Mission – to free Nicaraguan children and their families from poverty through initiatives that support education, facilitate job creation, foster health, and cultivate local leadership.

A strategic vision for a better community must be the vision of local community leaders and carried out by local initiative. As a result of this, UNIDOS finds local leaders, teachers, business men, and pastors to partner with and share their vision of a thriving Nicaragua.”
History
Since 2003, UNIDOS has partnered with local communities in Nicaragua to find solutions to critical problems such as lack of access to education, economic opportunity, and poor healthcare. Recognizing the fact that those we serve are those who hold the answers to the complex issues that face them, UNIDOS supports and develops local community leaders, whether they are pastors, teachers, or health workers to discover and implement solutions.
Since opening its doors in 2004 “Colegio Cristiano Havilah” has graduated over 75 students and is widely recognized as the leading primary school in the region.
Through various in-country partnerships, UNIDOS has utilized experts on issues such as agriculture and business to increase crop production and assist in micro-finance projects.
Though much still remains to be done, UNIDOS is proud of the impact in people’s lives and remains committed to partnering with the people of Nicaragua to secure a better tomorrow.
Who We Are
UNIDOS is a registered not for profit organization, recognized both the US and Nicaragua. Our core team is made up of passionate people who want to improve education, living standards, as well as train up new leaders in Nicaragua who will move their communities and country forward. From our president to our in-country staff, from our board of directors to those volunteering on short-term trips, our goal remains transformational holistic development.
