Dec 2015 graduate

A sixth-grade graduate

The 2015 end of the school year family team went to Los Cedros from Nov. 27 to Dec. 7.  There we had three purposes.  One was to share a short Bible school program with the children at Escuela Cristiana Havila as well as in other communities affiliated with our work in Los Cedros.  Another purpose was to take the graduating sixth-grade students on a field trip, and, finally, we had the privilige of representing UNIDOS at Havila’s graduation ceremony for the kindergarten and sixth-grade students.

In addition we got to hand out the Christmas cards and notes sent by Sponsor a Student sponsors to their students.

Dec 2015 Bible lesson Condega

The children in Condega

On our first day we presented our Bible school program at a church in Condega that was recently founded by our partner church in Los Cedros.   Condega is a 3 1/2 hour drive from Los Cedros, so it made for a long day.  But it was wonderful.  There were about 55 children there in a town that is very dark spiritually.

That was a good warm up for the next day, when we shared with the 200 students who attend Havila.  Later in the week we were able to go to Reyes Norte and Monte Fresco as well.  The lesson was well received, and we had a wonderful time with all of the children.

Dec 2015 field trip

Sixth-grade girls in Granada

Our field trip with the sixth-grade students included most of the staff as well.  We went to Granada, a beautiful Colonial town.  There we did a boat tour out on Lake Nicaragua, spent some time in the city center, and had lunch out.  Fun!!

Dec 2015 sponsor meets child

A sponsor meets his sponsored student

The week ended with the graduation ceremony at Havila.  They do a lovely job of making a wonderful ceremony.  There were speeches and singing, and plenty of pomp and circumstance.
