Since the opening of its primary school (Colegio Cristiano Havilah) in 2004 over 400 students have graduated. The school has gained widespread recognition as one of the premier primary schools in the region.
Located on the outskirts of Los Cedros in rural Nicaragua, Colegio Cristiano Havilah serves the poorest of the poor in a widely forgotten part of the world. Children that attend Colegio Havilah often start their studies a few years behind their wealthier peers, because of the lack of schooling in the area. Once they have been at the school awhile they quickly catch up and excel even when compared to kids who have been attending school for years.
Information about the school
The school averages about 170 to 200 students and 10 fulltime teachers per year and is funded completely by the support of donors through our “Sponsor a Student” program.
The school is fully accredited and recognized by the Nicaraguan Ministry of Education as a premiere primary school (grades K-6).
