2020 Graduation for Pre-School and 6th Grade (see Seniors below)
Colegio Cristiano Havila held commencement exercises on December 10 and for the first time the celebration included high school graduates.
Completing preschool and sixth grade are considered important landmarks in Nicaragua, so Havila has had year-end celebrations since it was founded in 2005.
Havila has been expanding its secondary program for the last several years, and in 2020 it added Grade 11, which is the highest grade in Nicaragua.
So this year’s commencement featured Havila’s first class of high school graduates, which consists of 14 young men and women, most of whom have been at Havila for many years.
The ceremony also honored 21 preschoolers and 28 sixth graders.
“The students, teachers, and parents are excited about this graduation,” Havila Superintendent Pastora Flores wrote in an e-mail that was translated from Spanish into English. “We thank God for putting the responsibility of these students in our hands and for being in the lives of Los Cedros.”
“I write to [the sponsors] to thank you for all your love and financial help for the 2020 school year at our school,” Flores wrote. “It’s been difficult, but we can say how much the Lord has helped us.”
